During the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Angela Bassett will honour the memory of her late Black Panther: Wakanda Forever co-star Chadwick Boseman.
It “means a tremendous lot” to Bassett to honour Boseman and their movie, she said in a red carpet interview with PEOPLE magazine at the aforementioned renowned event. It has received a 2023 SAG Award nomination for best performance by a stunt group in a feature film.

“I went here…a couple of years ago, with my cast mates and it was amazing,” the 64-year-old Golden Globe Award-winning actress added. “We took home the best ensemble cast with the SAG Awards, so that was thrilling for us.” “We were, of course, guided by Chadwick who was there with us in our presence that day,” she recalled, referring to Boseman.
Angela Bassett continued by saying that it means a lot to her to participate in the project that meant so much to her co-star, whom she described as being “such a pleasure.” She said that her only purpose in being there was to represent him and the movie.

The Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Film went to Bassett last month for her portrayal of Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We were surrounded by the brightness and energy of Chadwick Boseman each and every day, she remarked on stage as she accepted her award. She said, “We take pleasure in knowing that this legendary Black Panther series is a part of his legacy that he helped to guide us to.”
