Soorarai Pottru, Jai Bhim, Vikram: Suriya is the new face of Tamil cinema’s

Actor Surya celebrating his 47th birthday today. This is the unforgettable birthday for actor Surya. The film “Soorarai Pottru” was released in theatres today on occasion of his birthday. It was made for the big screen experience and the makers were looking forward to release the film in theaters in November 2020. And the pandemic happened, bringing the entire world to a standstill. Surya, who was also the producer of the film, took a bold decision to offer the film for direct streaming. During the dark days of the lockdown, people across the country praised the film Soorarai Pottru which was released directly on OTT. Filmmaker Sudha Kongara made the film based on the memoir “Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey”. A memoir written by G.R. Gopinath who revolutionized the Indian commercial aviation industry by introducing low cost airline tickets to the working class.

Suriya’s acting as Maran made it hard to take our eyes off him. He underwent a body transformation to play the younger version of his character. His dedication and devotion to his craft was evident in every frame. And now Surya won his first “National Film Award for Best Actor” at 68th National Film Awards.
