South Indian film actor and director Prathap Pothen died in Chennai on Friday. He was 69

Popular actor and filmmaker Pratap Pothen was found dead in his apartment in Chennai on Friday, 15 July 2022. According to reports, the 69 year old actor died at his residence in Kilpauk, Chennai. He has acted in over a hundred films in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. He made her acting debut in Malayalam cinema with legendary director Bharathan through films like Aaravam, Thakara, Chamaram and Lorry.

Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Pothen has acted in more than 100 films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu besides directing some super hit films. Prathap Pothen has played notable roles in the Tamil film industry in the films like Jeeva, Vettri Vizhaa, Seevalapperi Pandi and Adhirshtsali. Most prominent Malayalam films of Pratap Pothen are Chamaram, Thakara, Pappu, Idavela, Kaikeyi, Aksharangal, Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare, and Thanmathra and several other iconic Malayalam movies. Pratap Pothen’s last film in Malayalam cinema was with the Mammootty starrer investigation thriller “CBI 5: The Brain”, where he played a pivotal role in the climax portions.
