The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is inviting 397 renowned artists and executives to join the organization in 2022. Member selection is based on professional qualifications, with a consistent commitment to representation, inclusion, and equity. There are 71 Oscar nominees in this year’s invitee class, including 15 winners.
Suriya was the first Tamil actor to be invited to the Oscar Organizing Committee. On Tuesday (28 June 2022), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences invited 397 artists and executives to join the 2022 class. Suriya and Kajol are representing India in this list this year. This is a great honor for a Tamil actor.
Suriya’s “Jai Bhim” and “Soorarai Pottru” were released on Amazon Prime Video and received international recognition. Although he has received many blockbuster films, these two films have reached a wide audience in the world.
Now, Suriya has been selected to join the membership queue of the Oscar organizers. The 2022 class includes 71 Oscar nominees and 15 winners. Suriya is the first Tamil actor to join the Oscar committee. It’s really a personal honor for the actor. The great music composer A.R. Rahman is already a member of the Oscar Academy. From India actress, Kajol and actor Suriya have been invited, once they join they will be eligible to vote for Oscar awards.
