Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, also known as Sidhu Moose Wala was born in Moose Wala village in Punjab’s Mansa district on 17 June 1993. Balkar Singh, the father of Sidhu Moosewala, is a former soldier and mother Charan Kaur. Moose Wala, who had a huge fan base, was known for his rap songs. Sidhu Moosewala holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and studied music in college. He later moved to Canada.
Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead in Jawaharlal Nehru village in Mansa district of Punjab. Two more people were injured when gunmen opened fire on a jeep while they were in traveling. The attackers have not yet been identified. The attack comes a day after the Punjab government withdrew security for 42 people, including Moose Wala.
Sidhu Moosewala was also known for his controversial Punjabi songs, which openly promoted gun culture and glorified thugs. Sidhu Moosewala contested from Mansa constituency in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. He was a Congress candidate and was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate.
