It was recently revealed, shockingly, that renowned Tamil film director N. Lingusamy had been given a 6-month prison term. The Saidapet Court in Chennai delivered the judgement. It is related to a case where it was claimed that Lingusamy didn’t pay back the debt.
The decision has received a lot of attention and is currently in the news. According to rumours, N. Lingusamy planned to make a film in 2014 with Karthi and Samantha playing the lead characters. Lingusamy’s own company Thirupathi Brothers secured Rs. 1.03 crore in debt from PVP Capital to produce the film, but the project stalled after that.
However, Lingusamy didn’t pay PVP Capital back the money, so the business went to the Chennai High Court to file a complaint against the esteemed director. N. Lingusamy allegedly owes PVP Capital money, but he has continued to make other films despite this, according to the petition that was filed. The High Court ordered the director to pay back the debt to the appropriate parties after hearing the case. According to reports, the director gave the debtor a check for Rs. 1.03 crore in accordance with the court’s order.
PVP Capital obtained a check and deposited it in a bank, only to discover that the transaction could not be completed because there were insufficient funds in the director’s account when the check eventually bounced. PVP Capital had filed a case in Saidapet Court against N. Lingusamy due to the bounced check, and the case had been ongoing for a while.
The Saidapet Court officially sentenced N. Lingusamy to a six-month prison term on Monday after finding him guilty of producing a fake check in lieu of a legitimate one and failing to pay the debt he owed. According to reports, Lingusamy’s brother also received the same prison term. According to sources, Lingusamy and his brother have decided to file an appeal and have begun the necessary paperwork.
With almost three decades of professional experience, N. Lingusamy is well-known for his directional works.
Run, Sandakozhi, Paiyaa, Vettai, Anjaan, and The Warriorr are a few of his films.
